My Story

Current progress (12/21)

I'm Zack and my challenge is to complete 21 Half Marathons in a 12 month period (01/09/23-01/09/24). This is in memory of my Dad (John) who sadly passed away. Any donations made towards Fight Bladder Cancer at the Funeral, are being processed through this page.

I came up with the idea whilst Dad was in hospital and ended up researching about Fight Bladder Cancer, and thought their stance on making people more aware and supporting patients and families, it was the perfect choice.

Dad was so active throughout his life as a National List/Football League referee, a UK Athletics Official, performed many other voluntary roles within Football and the Justice system, right up until he went into hospital. I will be channeling his strength and determination to succeed throughout this challenge.

The charity revolve their fundraising around the number 21 due to the 21,000 people a year diagnosed with Bladder Cancer. So 21x21km it is!

My reason for doing this fundraising for Fight Bladder Cancer is to raise awareness of the disease and to help more people learn about symptoms, treatments and their options throughout their own battles.

If this awareness can save someone from the devastating effects of the disease then it will be worth every kilometre being run.
