21K Bladder Cancer Hospitals Walk
Arnav Bhatt
My Story
As the grandson of a Bladder cancer survivor and the son of a Bladder cancer surgeon, I would like to raise funds and much needed awareness for Bladder Cancer. On Saturday 20th May, I walked from my school, Mearns Castle High School, to 5 hospitals within Glasgow covering a total of well over 21 kilometers in a single day (every year 21,000 people are diagnosed with bladder cancer in the UK). From my school, I walked to the New Victoria Hospital, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Gartnavel General Hospital, Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, and ended the walk at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where my dad works. Along the way, we engaged with the public to raise awareness. At the hospitals, we thanked all the amazing NHS staff looking after bladder cancer patients. My 21K walk is over, however my fundraising continues. Thank you for all your continued support!
